April 9, 2019

Episode 4 - Chris Alliston

Hello, and welcome to The Jak Bowler Podcast.

This is a conversational podcast looking to explore how well you can know someone and why they are the way they are.

Your mediator, Jak Bowler, has worked in the mobile phone industry for a number of years and see's the progressive dependence on the technology we use and the reliance of social media be something of a juxtaposition - Social Media being inadvertently Anti-Social.

Don't Be A Stranger wants to encourage it's listeners to reduce the looking down at screens and to look up and engage in conversation instead.

Jak sits down with a different guest every episode from his life - friends, family, colleagues etc. to discuss them in greater detail and develop a better understanding of that person in the aim to develop a better relationship with that person.

Ranging from the personal to the down right ridiculous, Jak explores HIS guest, WITH his guest, ultimately motivating them and the listeners to Don't Be A Stranger.

Episode 4 - Chris Alliston

Chris and I discuss his meteoric rise from a humble doodler to in house illustrator of an independent company, covering his time at Univeristy in Birmingham (briefly) and finding his home in Liverpool. We cover how a simple slide into the DM's can make all the difference snd how his talents lead him to collaborate with some of his favourite bands. We even talk about Falconry...so there's that!

Elmo and I discuss the thing that brought us together; Our mutual love for music, covering the current trends, our favourite artists and the controversy around the music industry and then how this also feeds into films, media and politics. Elmo  approached me and requested that he wanted to come onto the podcast and talk about a diagnosis he received during his 2nd year at university and how that has affected him a few years on. This will be the first time he has spoken openly about his diagnosis and I can't thank him enough for entrusting me with his story!

Elmo is a photography graduate and you can follow him on instagram @_elmo_____ (5 underscores) and can contact him with photography enquiries on there!
